Cbank: Russia’s trend inflation accelerates to 5.2% in April
MOSCOW, May 15 (PRIME) -- Russia’s trend inflation accelerated to 5.2% in April from 5.1% in March, the central bank said in a statement on Tuesday.
The growth of trend inflation is possibly temporary as it is mainly due to a high sensitivity of the indicator to the growth of prices for goods that depend on oil prices and foreign currency exchange rates.
The current estimate of trend inflation remains high due to high inflation in the past and inertia of calculation of the figure, the authority said.
Medium-term risks of inflation exceeding 4% annually still prevail over the risks of it falling below the target.
